Guided tours by appointment are possible. The museum gives you an insight into the life of citizens of the former GDR. The collection contains many things of everyday life, like toys, furniture and so-called "GDR-Art".

Since 1927, the former dwelling house shows valuable exhibits, especially furniture of different epochs. Every day there are guided tours for visitors; for groups of visitors the museum does also open by appointment.

The town and school museum offers various events, for example "classes 100 years ago" (teaching methods, corporal punishment, teaching aids). In addition, there are tours of a farmhouse room and the town’s history, a GDR museum as well as a geological section with a collection of minerals. In the museum’s banquet hall, lectures are given periodically.

The information centre delivers information about the history of the town of Ronneburg and local uranium ore mining industry. Moreover, it gives an insight into recultivation of former mining areas and the development of the "New Landscape" in connection to the BUGA 2007. In the public mine, visitors get to know a lot about the hard work of the pitmen.

A great enrichment for our region is the traditional farmers museum in Kühdorf. As structured like a real farm, the museum is unique in its authentic design. Several thousand objects of about 4 centuries are stored here. Apart from many farming things of daily use, tools of various craftsmen like shoemakers, carpenters, joiners or smiths can be seen.
