Kirschberg and Great Arboretum

The historical Kirschberg is located opposite the Lichtenberger Kanten. On top of Kirschberg, the "Great Arboretum" is being created, where the tree flora of the northern hemisphere is impressively represented. Embedded in the Arboretum and under the theme "Thuringia and the world", a total of 12 originally created typical Thuringian landscapes are presented. They give the visitors an impression of the structural wealth and the beautiful landscapes of the Free State of Thuringia as a recreational area. The exhibition areas "renewable primary products" and "Cosmeen", the craftsmen’s promenade and the gardeners’ market harmonically round off the picture. For the first time at a horticultural show, prairie bushes will be presented on an large area of land.
