Erlebnisbrücke (Adventure Bridge)

The Lichtenberger Kanten and the Kirschberg with the great Arboretum are connected by a 240m long wooden bridge spanning the Gessental Valley. When stepping on the "Adventure Bridge", one soon passes through the tops of the trees on the Kirschberg in the height of 26 m. Visitors can enjoy a fantastic view of the entire area of the "Neue Landschaft Ronneburg" and far into the neighboring Gessental Valley. The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the "Adventure Bridge" took place on 13th October, 2005 and was carried out by the minister of economics of the State of Thuringia, Mr. Jürgen Reinholz, the governor of the district of Greiz, Mrs. Martina Schweinsburg and the mayor of the city of Ronneburg, Mr. Manfred Böhme (see picture). Many interested inhabitants of Ronneburg and citizens of the surrounding area witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony, which took place on a very beautiful sunny day.
